It also provide services for their supporting partners and other public safety organisations including a limited number from the Scottish Crime Campus at Gartcosh! Whether saving with the SPCU or repaying a loan, the SPCU can set up a monthly Direct Debit with a choice of four payment dates to suit you.
December 2025
For SPCU members information, from 1st December 2025, the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) now covers savings in institutions up to £120k per eligible person. Be aware that if you have in excess of this saved with institutions who operate multiple brands under the same licence as this would dilute the coverage (e.g. NatWest – RBS, Royal Ulster, Sainsburys, AA).
Savings with SPCU have additional life coverage up to £1,000 at no extra cost* – full details around this and all SPCU products/services can be found on their website.

Many advertisements promise quick fixes for debt, suggesting that debts can be easily ‘written off‘ or ‘reduced‘. While this is possible in certain situations, it’s crucial to understand that these solutions come with specific conditions and potential risks particularly in relation to your credit score and any future borrowing.
Quick fixes are not always in your best interest.
Incorrect advice or ill-informed decisions can lead to further financial complications. Seeking impartial and independent advice is vital before committing to any debt management strategy.

The SPCU is pleased to also share with you that they have launched a new SPCU Support and Wellbeing page on their website, designed to provide you with valuable resources and information.
You can find guidance on financial wellbeing, bereavement, budgeting hints and tips, and much more. The SPCU understands that some SPCU members may need a bit of extra support, and they’re here to help.
