The annual Scottish Borders lunch was held at the Kingsknowes Hotel, Galashiels. It was well attended and it was good to see some new faces and retired colleagues who had recently moved into the area. There was a wide cross section of people from those that had recently retired, to some that had retired many years ago.
Inspector Tony Hodges the Deputy Area Commander for the Scottish Borders was the Police Scotland representative and he said a few words about the current state of Police Scotland and recounted some tales from the past. In this special remembrance year our raffle raised a record amount for Poppy Scotland. Our thanks go to Charlie Common for organising this again
An excellent meal was provided by the hotel and following the meal we remembered 7 of our absent friends that sadly died during the last year. It was an enjoyable afternoon catching up with friends and former colleagues.
Our thanks go to the Lothian and Borders RPOAS Branch for providing generous sponsorship for this event.
