L & B Branch regret to inform you of the death of  Retired CI David Lawson (89) who passed away suddenly at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary on 20th June 2018.

David joined Edinburgh City Police following military service in the Scots Guards. He served in A Division based at Mayfield and Causewayside, Force HQ Fettes, and D Division where he was based at both Leith and Portobello. He retired from L&B in 1983.
During his police service he was one of those who were instrumental in setting up the Police Club at York Place, Edinburgh. He was also an active member of the British Legion and regularly took part in recitals at Burns' Suppers 

He is survived by his wife and son

His funeral service will be held at 1200hrs on Monday 2nd July 2018 at Seafield Crematorium, 40 Seafield Road, Edinburgh, to which all friends and former colleagues are invited.
