Obituary – Bain

Lanarkshire Branch regret to inform you of the death of retired Constable George Bain, aged 79 years,  at home, on Friday night, 21st April 2017 1975. 

George joined Motherwell & Wishaw Burgh Police in August 1964  In 1971 he became a founder member of the newly established Community Involvement Branch, at the then Divisional Headquarters at Motherwell Police Office.  His hard work and commitment resulted in him being awarded the British Empire Medal (B.E.M.) in December 1986. George retired from the Police 1991 after 27 years’ police service. 

George’s funeral service will take place at 11.15 a.m. on Friday, 28th April 2017, at the Co-operative Funeralcare Premises, 71 Hill Street, Wishaw ML2 7BG, to which all former colleagues are very welcome. It will be a Humanist Ceremony and the Celebrant will be retired colleague Norrie Flowers, Thereafter, the burial will take place around 12 mid-day at Cambusnethan Cemetery, Kirk Road, Wishaw ML2 8NP.
